Cost Estimator (San Diego, CA):
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare preliminary and final independent cost estimates of construction projects
- Prepare change order estimates to establish negotiating position
- Provide support in price negotiations
- Prepare claim analyses and estimates
- Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specs and sketches
- Review contractor's claims and proposals for merit and accountability
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years experience in construction estimating
- Prefer BS or BA in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field
- Knowledge of federal government experience a plus
- Extensive experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to quickly identify differences
- Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work
Construction Managers (Cocoa Beach, FL; San Diego, CA; Honolulu, HI; and Guam):
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate construction activities
- Supervise field staff in the day-to-day operations
- Interface with client daily
- Manage subcontractors
- Estimate construction project costs
- Monitor and controlling project budgets and schedules
- Prepare project progress and financial reports
Requirements:
- 5+ years working in horizontal and vertical construction
- Must be a US Citizen
- Federal project experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project management software
- Strong communication skills
- Degree in any Engineering or Construction-related field a plus
- Design-Build experience a plus
- Use of cost estimating tools a plus
