Cost Estimator (San Diego, CA):

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare preliminary and final independent cost estimates of construction projects
  • Prepare change order estimates to establish negotiating position
  • Provide support in price negotiations
  • Prepare claim analyses and estimates
  • Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specs and sketches
  • Review contractor's claims and proposals for merit and accountability

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in construction estimating
  • Prefer BS or BA in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field
  • Knowledge of federal government experience a plus
  • Extensive experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to quickly identify differences
  • Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work

Construction Managers (Cocoa Beach, FL; San Diego, CA; Honolulu, HI; and Guam): 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate construction activities
  • Supervise field staff in the day-to-day operations
  • Interface with client daily
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Estimate construction project costs
  • Monitor and controlling project budgets and schedules
  • Prepare project progress and financial reports

Requirements:

  • 5+ years working in horizontal and vertical construction
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Federal project experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project management software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Degree in any Engineering or Construction-related field a plus
  • Design-Build experience a plus
  • Use of cost estimating tools a plus
